Maui

The four sisters decided to take another trip. We have been trying to do this yearly. This time we headed to Maui. We got to visit Denton and his family while we were there. That was fun. We arrived on Giovana's 11th birthday, so we got to celebrate with her. We also got to go to Giovana's softball practice. Denton is one of the coaches and I took lots of action pictures.
The kids also came over to our condo and got to spent time on the beach with us. They were on spring break while we were there. DJ was great on the boogy board and James loved being buried in the sand and just playing in it.
On Sunday, we headed out with Denton and his family. We went to a Lavendar Farm, A Surfing Goat Cheese Farm and to Ioa Peak. We also stopped at an out of the way place called Grandma’s where we had brunch. It was a good day.
My favorite part of the trip was being able to go out the door and walk on the beach. I got reading done and a bit of a tanning at the same time. Oh, and did I mention the Sunsets. They were just beautiful. We didn’t need to pay for whale watching either. The whales loved to perform just before sunset.
Our big splurge was taking a helicopter to Hana and a driver drove us back with lots of stops at very scenic places. The drive back was spectacular. I had done the drive before, but our limo driver knew all the really cool places to spot. Her stopped at a flower farm where we all got a bouquet of flowers. We at a lunch on the beach in Hana. And he took us to a beach (off the beaten path) that is probably the most amazing beach I have ever seen.
But, the most wonderful part of this vacation was that we sisters got to spend time together.
Giovana turns 11.

James plays outside of our condo

Well, we had to bury James in the sand. That was fun!

Three generations! Betty James and Denton

Walking on the beach by our condo. This is in Khana.

We played a lot of cards. Giovana did a overnight with us and we had a great time.

Ioa Needle - James and DJ pose in front of it.

Here is Denton at the Lilac Farm. The kids had fun doing a scavenger hunt. We got Lilac cookies as their prize.
Here we are at the Surfing Goat Cheese Farm. We saw goat that were 1 hour old. The ones on the log below were 4 days old. The goat cheese was wonderful.

Don't you just love this sign. "Parking for Filipinos Only".
Here we are touring Hana. The pictures aren't really in order, but I'm so glad that two weeks after I returned, I actually got around to blogging this.

We flew from the main airport to Hana in this cute helicopter.

Sue knew the owner of this coffee shop in Paia. Check out the sign on the wall. It's hard to read. It says, " I'll have a Cafe Mocha Vodka, Marijuana Latte".

Giovana practicing stealing bases.

Mary and Betty watching Giovana practice. Did I mention that here is an ocean view at the ball field.

We saw so many whales. This is just a small sampling.

And the sunsets.........

Our driver said this was a rainbow tree. Beautiful colors.

Keanae - a place you don't want to miss on the Road to Hana. I could have stayed here all day.

Here I am
Here is Mary
Here is Sue at one of my favorite spots on the Hana Highway

These are the famous malasadas. They are really yummy fried donuts. We got them at a wonderful shop in the up country.

Here is Betty with her Grandchildren on our last night in Maui

I loved this time of the day. Oh, and I loved the vacation too.
